Who Are We?

Precision Arts is a collaboration between the 11-time Drum Corps International Champion Blue Devils from Concord, CA and the 1996 Drum Corps International Champions Phantom Regiment from Rockford, IL, both of whom are private, federally registered, not-for-profit youth organizations. These two groups have been dedicated to the education and development of young people for decades. Each group consists of 135 students ranging in age from 17 to 22 years old who perform across the United States and internationally. Both groups are active members of Drum Corps International.

Blue Devil and Phantom Regiment students receive outstanding instruction from a well-known staff, tour the world, and meet peers from across the globe. Lessons such as discipline, perseverance, and collaboration, will benefit students throughout their adolescence and into adulthood. Other attributes that are important to both organizations include character building, responsibility, pride, honesty, integrity, organization, teamwork, and most importantly having fun.

Why Did We Start Precision Arts?

Though each group has a very specific identity and brand, the ideology between the two groups is very similar. The Blue Devils are known for their jazz productions, while the Phantom Regiment is known for their classical productions. Each group is known for making sure that the experience of the student is the top priority. Both groups now come together to expand the number of lives they can enrich through the experience of participation with Precision Arts.

The Blue Devils and Phantom Regiment recognized the desire and need for creating an environment for learning and growth through the performing arts with excellence as the highest standard. The goal of Precision Arts is to create experiences of a lifetime that will aid in the positive development of its students. Both organizations have been doing this for many years while participating in Drum Corps International events. The groups are limited to the number of students that can participate; so by creating this partnership the educational value and experience can now be expanded to many more students.

History

The Blue Devils and Phantom Regiment have been competing against each other in Drum Corps International events since 1973, though each group has been in existence much longer. Besides the drum and bugle corps, each organization found it important to expand their educational opportunities. The Blue Devils also include a “B” Corps, “C” Corps, winter guard, school of music, and the Diablo Wind Symphony. The Phantom Regiment produces very popular drum major and snare drum camps, as well as a fall marching band festival.
